Don’t Blow Your Refunds. Do This Instead

It’s tax time. Shutdown is over and IRS is working full blast to get those refunds out the door.

Life says you re likely to be tempted to spend the refund on a vacation or expensive coveted item such as a new shiny phone or bag.

Don’t do it. Take a deep breath. Let the money sit in the bank for a week or two.

Use those two weeks to think through your financial position present and future.

Do you have the recommended 6 months savings?

Do you have high interest credit card?

Do you have sufficient enough funds for savings?

If you are lucky to have the first couple of things covered can you use that money to pay your car off faster or the mortgage?

Ok, I am no scrooge. Take a couple of dollars and treat yourself to a nice dinner out or a day at the spa.

Just don’t blwo the big chunk when you could use it for yoru benefit longterm.
