CHANGES IN BAIL REQUIREMENTS IN MARYLAND

The chief Judge has ordered district court judges to impose the Least onerous conditions on bail.

In plain english, this translates into don’t place impossibly high amounts for bail or other conditions such as cash bail that are likely to guarantee the defendant remains in jail.

It is too early to determine what this means in practice.
